The only time the Mr. Fixit gray Hulk persona really worked for me was when Ron Frenz did the pencils...Hulk's suit looks circa 1966.

The Thing/Hulk fight attributed to Ron Frenz is actually by Keith Pollard with Joe Sinnott inking, if I remember correctly. I'm not sure that Frenz got to draw the gray Hulk anyplace but the cover of Fantastic Four #320.

The first FF issues I ever bought were the Englehart/Pollard issues, and I read #310-320 a LOT back in the late 1980s. I'm one of those few guys who's actually got a sense of nostalgia for the ol' pine-cone Thing design.

And that's my one-thousandth post here. Ker-pow!
