That Kubert is amazing, JB - but your stuff ain't half bad either.  ;)

It's refreshing to see a master appreciate another master.

I remember going into a Burger King once in the early 80s. They had a life-sized stand-up poster of the Burger King character, and it had been drawn by Neal Adams.

So, JB, how's your Hamburglar?

I was exclusively a Marvel guy when I was a kid, but I couldn't resist Justice League #200 when I saw the cover! I think it was probably the first DC issue I ever bought.

Someone needs to post some John Buscema punches. He was the best ever IMO.

The worst part about Kubert is that he makes it seem so effortless. I need to save up for some Kubert original art (I saw a minor Sgt Rock piece for USD 550 on e-bay. That's almost in my price range. If I save up for a few months.)

That, JB, is the last thing I expected to see today!

This is also from JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA 200:

By Gil Kane, posted earlier in the thread.

Each battle was drawn by the artist closely associated with the character(s), and each part had a full page splash, which apparently are worth the price of admission all by themselves.

All scans from http://www.ferretpress.com/weblog/labels/way%20back%20machin e.htm

This one doesn't have a punch, but still very cool Jim Aparo:

Plus punchtastic admitted mismatch between Flash and E Man by Infantino:

And this Batman part (it looks like Mike Grell?!?)

And George Perez goodness, complete with everybody looking gnarly as hell:

What happened to comics that did this sort of thing? Whoever came up with that 200th issue really wanted to do something special, and pulled it off.

I think a large part of the idea was to do JLA 200 like an original Justice
Society adventure--the artist then drawing the hero (or otherwise associated
with him) drawing the hero's individual chapter. I really remember nothing
about the story, but I hugely enjoyed the issue.

Having seen what I've seen in all these scans, I just had to go to ebay. My copy of JLA 200 is on the way!!!
