11x17 (27x43cm)

Got a weird vibe off this one -- that I kinda like! -- that I
was channeling Bruce Timm -- but inked by Frank
Springer!

This really looks like it came straight out of a comic book, and that is the biggest compliment I can give

Makes me wish all of Kirby's comics were in black and white. I've never really
liked Orion, and I think it was his costume colors fighting against him. In JB's
piece he just looks amazing and doesn't feel trapped in particular period of
comic history. If that makes sense at all.

I'll admit, red costumes have not really worked for me, outside The Flash.

Captain Marvel, Orion, even Ant Man -- tend to look like they are in literal longjohns.

Nice.

I can see the Timm comparison with the bold lines, chiselled muscles and
dramatic poses; but I'm not seeing Springer.

Cool!  It's not what I thought it was, which is great because I just added another idea to my commission list.  Channeling Bruce Timm can't be a bad thing.   Thanks for sharing!
