I'm horribly shocked and appalled at that.  That, apart from being a shithead thing to do, is just not a very good piece of art..Gerry, for $1.50 for new pencil lead, i could do as well.  Again, i have to go with the thought that we all might want our favourite artists to do work for us for nostalgia's sake, but you really need to go with what works.  Would any of us going forward want to commission from his?  At this point, i'd say no.  I will never commission from him.

JB, great on you, i know you'll draw another magnificent Dr. Strange for Gerry.

Also, Gerry, i love your art collection and can give you a couple names of artists who won't disappoint that will do fabulous Dr. Strange art.

All said...

What about this chick -renee- that fronts for Golden?

She is as much to blame for the sloppy attitude... what's her story?
(and I don't want any Brady jingle popping up)

Gerry - Sorry to hear that happened, especially to one of the nicest guys here.

JB, that was very generous of you.  As always, you are a class act.

John,

This is a wonderful deed that you are doing for Gerry.  I know how much he has gone through with Michael Golden and his representative in terms of one story after another, one missed deadline after another (and these deadlines were set by Golden's rep not Gerry).

I hope this event transforms Golden's reputation so that it matches his behavior and I hope everyone sees the kind of heart that JB has.

Gerry,

I thought you were just giving out because he spelt virtue wrong... Then I read it again:

What a bollocks!!

I'll be spreading the word!

JB,

An extremely generous offer.

If anyone would like a clear cut example as to why John Byrne has been my favorite creator for these past three decades, look no further than this thread.

JB, you are a consumate professional and, better still, you are a shining example of what is right about this medium that we all love.

Thanks John... for everything.
