I guess i just don't put much cred into "Fan Cred" or things that I don't hear personally. I truly did not intend to make it sound like you had done wrong to anybody, just that I have always enjoyed your work (32 years)and continue to do so. Having said all that it still has to suck to see your name in print associated with things you've never said or twisted storys of what you did over 30+ years of being in the comic biz.

Mine is a "good" Byrne story. I promised the man I wouldn't go into detail when he helped me out, but he was kind enough to do so when I posted something regarding a project of his. It was something he didn't have to do, and I was impressed that he took the time to help out.

William, this is the back of my sketchbook. It's an autograph, surrounded by a bunch of little Byrne stamps. I wanted a stamp sig before JB retired from cons, and therefore retired the stamp, and I didn't have any reprint comics with me.

The photo was taken at HeroesCon last year while I was talking to Andy Smith, at his table. He did a dandy Superman sketch for me.

Yup. When I "retired" from cons, someone suggested I sell the stamp on eBay, but it doesn't take much thought to realize how much mischief that could generate!

It belongs in a museum!

Frank Miller and I were at a DarkHorse con together one year. We were staying at the same hotel, and agreed to meet for breakfast. Frank stopped by my room before we headed down, and found on one of the tables a sheet of paper with six or eight of my autographs on it. He held it up. "What's this? Practise?" He didn't know about the stamp, or that I usually "ran" it half a dozen times on a piece of scrap paper, before heading down to the convention, in order to discharge any lint or other debris that might have accumulated since it was last in use.

I know I'm late to the party on this...but I did want to chime in. 

I can't believe that Golden did this.  It's very wrong. 

I'm very impressed with JB's generosity.  You are a good person, sir.

Did you tell him that you were trying to get your signature to look consistent from one signing to the next?  "So, how am I doing?"
