Lynda Carter actually wrote the introduction to the new The Greatest Wonder Woman Stories Ever Told TPB (which I would recommend, by the way, even though it should've included at least one JB story.)

From reading that piece, I certainly got the impression she likes and respects the character and is proud of her association with Wonder Woman.

This thread reminds me--

Whatever happened to the BOYS WILL BE BOYS thread? It seems to have
disappeared without a trace. Did people just stop posting there, or was it
removed for some reason?

IIRC, not being one who used that thread, too many pics of plastic women were being posted so it went bye-bye.

Lynda Youtube video

go to the 1:27 mark to see the most incredible figure ever..

Go to the 3:15 mark to hear what also made Lynda such a great Wonder Woman.. if only all actors took their comic book roles this seriously!

Don't worry about JB. I have a compulsion to keep coming back to this thread. Plan on it a lot.

Loved her work in WW. Thought she was wonderful in it.

I got tired of deleting the silicone, around the same time the thread got oddly contentious. So I locked it.

What about a thread about anything silicon now? But no flesh. So Chicks with fake boobs are still forbiden.

You could post implants, but not when they are in the chicks.

heh!

From reading that piece, I certainly got the impression she likes and respects the character and is proud of her association with Wonder Woman.

****

That wasn't always the case.  During the 80s she really tried to distance herself from the role (afraid, no doubt, of falling into a George Reeves/Adam West typcasting dilemma.)  Around the time of the Perez reboot, there was a comics magazine that did a series of articles on the character including the TV series, and although Lyle Wagoner was interviewed they stated in the article that Lynda refused to discuss the series.  In the last decade or so she's really embraced the role as she seems to finally accept that -- despite a respectable career beyond Wonder Woman -- her immortality rests in that bodice.

Despite extremely fond memories of the show, I found it to be nearly unwatchable on DVD except for the catchy theme song and Lynda herself.  I don't think any other actor has been better cast in a superhero role, and she played the role without a shred of camp, tongue-in-cheek irony or condescension.

Ah, I see.

Thanks for the explanation, JB!

(Considering how regularly I checked out that thread, I'm surprised to
discover that I missed the period where things got contentious there.
Probably 'cause I was much more focused on looking at the photos than
reading the text!)
