I've been to a couple SciFi and Star Trek conventions -- so like the whores they are I've got a ton of autographs from those celebs.  I also worked several "Super Bowl parties" when I was in the Casino biz - I've got a ton of NFL autographs - Montana, Young, Aikman and Elway probably top that list.

Less common --

Peter Graves
Tony Hamilton
Thaao Penghlis
Phil Morris
Jane Badler
(cast of 1988/89 Mission Impossible series -- sat at the table next to them in a comedy club)

John McEnroe (met at the Australian Open in 1986)

Andrew McFarlane (Australia TV star, The Saint - met at a night club)

Kylie Minogue (Australia TV and Pop star - soon to be Doctor Who companion - met at a restaurant)

Ricky Ponting
Sir Garfield Sobers
Malcom Marshall
Michael Holding
Clive Lloyd
Greg Chappell
Rodney Marsh
Dennis Lilley
Alan Border
David Boone
Kim Hughes
Sir Donald Bradman
Sir Richard Hadley
(Cricket stars from various international teams and eras - mostly met by running on the field - some were met at professional functions)

Gene Simmons
Paul Stanley
Ace Frehley
Peter Criss
Bruce Kulick
Eric Singer
(Kiss, the band -- I will never get Eric Carr's unfortunately, RIP Eric -- met individually over the years at some concerts for other bands, etc backstage)

Sir Paul McCartney (met at Lake Tahoe)

Sean Connery (funnily enough, met in Las Vegas)
George Lazenby (met at a charity event in Australia)

Harrison Ford (met through a film crtic friend)

Arnold Swarzenegger (same friend as above)

Tony Curtis (same friend)

Debbie Reynolds (same friend)

and my personal favorite -- Kirk Douglas (same friend, had dinner with the guy AWESOME !!!!  what a freakin' legend)

I think I have a few more, too - but can't recall.  I was remembering those by a certain order I've got them in my head.

My son has autographs from all the superheores at Universal Studios -- does that count ?

Oh -- I've got JOHN BYRNE's autograph, too -- but I've never met him -- I'm hoping he goes back "on the road" one day.

The most recent cool autograph I found was a copy of "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor" by Bruce Campbell.  I've been looking for a copy to read and found one at the local Half-price books next to the house, the added bonus was that it was signed on the cover page, now my name isn't Jason but for the low price of $10.00 for the hardcover 1st printing of this book signed I can pretend that it was a gift from someone named Jason.

The only time I really collected autographs was at my first major convention in Philadelphia in 1993. I had a book, The Comic Book Superstars, published by the Comics Buyers' Guide, which was a sort of encyclopedia of artists, writers, and editors. I collected a bunch of autographs. My favorite were Julius Schwartz who was kind enough to pose with me for a photo, Martin Nodell, who of course signed it in green ink, and Todd Klein, whose autograph was a work of art itself.

I've gotten a bunch of autographs from comic book pros, Star Trek actors,
science fiction writers, and such, but the odd one I "accidentally" got was
a signed original edition copy of "Rockets, Missiles, and Space Travel" by
Willy Ley, arguably one of the fathers of modern spaceflight.

I used to work at a science museum that had originallyy been the US
Science Pavillion of the Seattle World's Fair of 1962. Back in the late 80s
they were junking the library of books that had built up over the years; I
found this book in a stack of others, glanced thru it, and found Ley's
signature inside!
I asked one of the staff who had been around during the World's Fair and
he confirmed that Ley had been there.

I don't understand the appeal of autographs.  The celebrity isn't going to remember me for my insight, wit and good looks.

It's not like JB could say "Oh yes, you were the fat, bald, & annoying putz who waited in line 4 hours to get an autograph on an issue of Iron Fist".

That being said my Mom got a nice thank you note from Norman Rockwell, after sending him a birthday card.

My wife got a nice note back from Jimmy Stewart, after sending him a fan letter.

(and of course I have no idea if the above mentioned folks had a service to send out thank you cards.)

I got only a few autographs...

David Prowse, Majel Barrett, and Brian Thompson at a sci fi convention some years ago.  Majel signed a Star Trek: TNG script that she had starred in, which i thought was cool.  Prowse signed a Vader pic and a Vader card.

Got a Lee Majors autograph coming from the Bioniccon which just happened, so that will get an honoured place..It is signed on a pic of Lee and Bigfoot.
