I don't remember if you've drawn Valkyrie before (other than perhaps for a OHotMU cover), but I think that you designed one of the costumes she wore for a short while when Marvel was trying to get away from the metal brassiere look.  Am I recalling correctly?

***

Yes, I sent a doodle to Steve Gerber, when he was writing THE DEFENDERS. He liked it, and had Valkyrie appear in it. But shortly thereafter the creative team changed, the new artist drew the old costume, and rather than having the inker fix it, the new writer wrote her out of the new costume. C'est la vie.

That's is awesome. I loved your original run on the Hulk, and to this day it remains one of my favorites.  This is a great piece, and now I've got to rethink my own ideas for a commission to maybe include the Hulk...

I give up. Can't find anything or think of anywhere you may have drawn her before. Could this be a Byrne 1st?

I thought she was on the Bullpen Bulletins 'everybody' page, but I guess not.

As someone with a handful of JB commissions and not a lot of love for the Hulk, I have to say this might be your best commission yet.  Certainly your best drawing of the Hulk, hands down.  Love it, thanks for sharing and congrats to the commissioner!

Ah, the FF cover. The Bullpen Bullitens page was a great guess. Didn't even cross my mind.

Stunning commission, given the great use of composition, it's more like seven commissions in one, each scene could easily stand on its own. Bravo.

So many awesome things going in this commission. Abomination would be
cool, but I'd take that Leader scene with his minions anyday. I really liked
how you (JB) filled that small bit of negative space with the Human Torch as
well.

Seeing this, I can't help but think that JB is one of the few artists/writers that
could keep me enthralled with a 100 issue run of the Hulk.

Minor bit of trivia, btw --- this is the first time, in all the years that I have drawn him, that I felt comfortable inking the Thing's plates without any pencil guidelines. For the very first time, I just went straight at 'em with the brush.
