Like the Untold Legend of Batman above, these two books of mine are also Tempo sized.

Many of you know that Gil Kane is my all-time favorite. I also have two of his Tempo sized books.

Marvel started producing their own trades in 1983 with Mighty Marvel Team-Up Thrillers. It is even numbered #1 on the cover. On the inside, it features a list of all the previous Fireside books. It also includes a John Byrne story, "Sword of the She-Devil" with Spider-Man & Red Sonja.

I am sure you recognize their second trade from 1984. See the #2 on the cover?

Sienkiewicz did the covers for both the Iron Man and X-Men TBPs. Those bring back great memories for me since those TPBs were my first exposure to the JB Uncanny X-Men and the John Romita, Jr./Bob Layton Iron Man.
As for the numbering scheme, Marvel never did a #4, did they?

Ted, is it weird that I recognize that illustration from the Superman Pocketbook as having originally appeared in Superman 300?

I remember going crazy over an ad in the back cover of COMICS SCENE # 1 for the DKR, RONIN, WATCHMEN trades...IIRC, the cover had one of those rare Watchmen group shots....
