Wow, that JB guy sure could write and draw 'em!
Love the scene where the Avengers Quinjet gets recycled. It's like they just
entered Dracula's Castle.

Was the name change to AVENGERS WEST COAST your idea? *** Yes, knowing many retailers rather stubbornly insisted on racking the books in strict alphabetical order, it was the first thing I asked for when I accepted the assignment.

As much as I loved the West Coast Avengers from their very first appearance -- the lineup, the tone, everything -- I always thought they had a silly name. The Avengers have global or interplanetary adventures all the time, and yet this team is tied to the West Coast. This nonsense was surpassed only by the New Mutants, who ceased being "new" about a year after they were introduced.
Were I the King Of The World and the owner of a time machine, West Coast Avengers should have simply used an adjective like the Spider-Man titles (i.e. the current Mighty Avengers) and New Mutants should have been called Xavier's School or something similar.

Frank Miller suggested PROFESSOR CHARLES
XAVIER'S SCHOOL FOR GIFTED YOUNGSTERS.
Too hip for the room, I guess.

It's a custom screen I created in Photoshop and
xeroxed onto the art board.

I love the feeling of movement...from her gesture to the feedback....the way she falls back from tearing her cape...and I love the concept of She Hulk sitting back eating popcorn and reading a magazine in the Avengers Mansion,,,

I have a customer who takes me to task because I rack comics on the new comics wall grouped togther by company and similar titles (like "Batman" being group with "Detective Comics"). He thinks I should group them in alphabetical order. I think grouping them as I do makes more sense, though, as a fan of a family of titles cans find them all in one area.
Now, in the back issue boxes, I confess I do put things in alphabetical order.

Did you "cast" Wanda, JB? That's a very distinctive face...

Perhaps my favourite scene in all of JB's run for it's sheer suspense, horror, not to mention mind-blowingly good art.
Wanda has never looked so good.
