Hi.  I'm still really new here as a poster, but I had to comment on this one.

Love it.  Seeing the process really intigues me as well.

I miss the X-Men.  I really miss Cyclops.

I like Wolverine, but he was never my favorite X-Man.  The difference from then to today is that while I know from this forum that Mr. Byrne has personal favorites among all the books he does, he doesn't neglect all the other characters in order to service the ones he enjoys most.

Claremont, during his first run, also had favorites.  But the cast and the stories didn't demolish most of the other players in the book.  It wasn't just WOLVERINE: featuring the Uncanny X-Men.

Kinda like the reviewer who complained that my FF
were "too plot driven".



A complaint? That makes no sense whatever. I remember watching Burt Baccarach on television conducting an orchestra, and every once and a while he would start pounding on the piano. The sound of the music never changed, in spite of all his hammering, even though he was obviously putting a lot of effort into hitting the keys. For all his skill as a composer, he was not a good pianist. Compare him to Libarace playing the piano, alone, without accompaniment, appearing to barely touch the keyboard, smiling and nodding as if he's only vaguely aware of what he's doing.

The difference between apparently effortless talent and apparently talentless effort is enormous. I know which of these describes your work, sir.

Beautiful piece of work, by the way.

I also like the process behind the final product.
That's a real bonus for those of us that hang out on the forum.

This commission is quite nice, keep up the good work.

Damn. I don't know anything about art or the process that goes into making something like this. I do appreciate JB showing us what goes into making one of his fantastic commissions. This is one of the many great things about this forum. Thanks for sharing. It makes my day.

Cute, Flavio.

Which reminds me, way back in X-Men#1, an Army seargant called them "Uncanny" - JB, since you were around for this, was that an influence on the book being changed to "The Uncanny X-Men"?
