I've gotten so used to my customized Thing it's surprising to see him in his
original, unaccented paint job. Not to mention Spider-Man still in blue.

that line thingy? It got pushed WAY out when I decided to keep a set of the figurines as-made, some doubles for repaints and erm the rescupts require a 3rd in some cases *cough*

I didn't know anything about Deadpool until a fellow CMFC member piqued my curiosity... I just picked up 3 Deadpools at my LCS with my shipment of other figs... one as-is, one in his X-Men costume and one to eventually try to customize as Ronin

*sigh* ...what disposable income...

Mark,
Are your repaints/customs online?  I'd love to see what you've done.

Hi Ryan, I'm still in the 'hoarding' phase but between the ideas/customs on Steve's site & forum and this one, I have a lot of projects on my list including the blue-to-black fixes, FF She-Hulk, JBs Wolverine, Thing inking, red Iron Fist... on the re-sculpt list I eventually want to finish ROM, Micronauts, Super-Adaptoid (classic ToS 84 version & Annihilation Conquest Quasar versions), Taskmaster (both the Perez and blue costumes), Deadpool Xmen/Thor/Cap costumes and Alpha Flight (hey I'm originally from Montreal so I can't help my love of AF) :)

There are a lot of great customs that were created during Steve's last customs competition... I'd check out his site & the customs section on his forum if you haven't already

I'm currently working on a ROM built up from wireframe. Zombula (a member on Steve's forum) made me a ROM that will be hard to top (but I'm enjoying my first trail at super sculpey using dental tools) :)

I know what you mean, I keep wanting to get to a few repaints, like the FF She-Hulk, Captain Marvel redone as the Mar-Vell version, etc, but time isn't on my side.  And converting Captain Britain to a Guardian figure.  BIG lover of AF here.

Super-Adaptoid, wow!  I really hope you share that one, he's one of my favorite villains!

You know, before I found this board, I was fat and happy just reading my comics and not bothering with art or statues.  Now, I have to make room for all this other stuff.  The line is getter further away all the time!!
I hate this board!

I'd love to see your Cap B to Guardian if you get time to do it :) (and yes I want a Mar-Vell version too... and a non-feline Beast)

Guardian is on the confirmed list but I'm not a patient man =P

Woza (I think) on steve's forum has done customs of most of Alpha Flight... some really nice work

re Super-Adaptoid - I think that ToS 84 or Marvel Double Feature 8 (same cover so I don't remember which) was one of my first Marvel comics and it had an impact on me... He's always been one of my alltime favorite villains. I'll let you know when I finish him :)

Just picked up Mysterio, Cyclops, and Ultron.  Mysterio is fantastic!!!  Love him.  Think the classic box pattern of his costume is wonderful and I love the theatrical pose I so associate with the character.  Ultron is nifty.  Traditional pose.  Not the biggest fan of the leather Cyclops outfit, but it's sufficiently dulled (think not Black Cat...which is perfect for her but not for Cyclops) that I don't mind it so much.  Love the pose with his hand to his visor too.

This line just impresses me so much.  Turned me from a guy that never buys this kind of stuff to someone looking forward to each new release.

Yesterday I was showing my new addiction to a complete civilian, and he was impressed by these little guys, too. There's just something magical there, I reckon!

Of course there is something magical about these JB, You mean you have not heard them having little battles in the night?  I swear I find them on different shelves from time to time :-)

I know Spiderman is the most active as there are always loads of little cobwebs at the back of my cabinet....

One thing I have noticed. . .

As you can probably see from the pictures I have posted, the shelving in
my studio is made up of those snap-together cubes, each side of which is
a wire grid, sort of like a chessboard, but open. As it happens, each of
the squares is just slightly larger than the base on one of the normal
sized figures, so with plastic sheeting to stop them falling thru, I can
arrange them in nice neat rows, with one empty square between each
figure, and each row off-set one square. Makes for a neat (in both
senses) effect.

Funny thing is, when people pick them up to look at them -- which no
one seems to be able to resist doing -- they always --always!! -- put
them back either rotated 45° or overlapping the next square. The first
person to do it was a friend who I assumed to be merely busting my
chops, since he has his few figures scattered haphazardly around his
office. But everybody else -- we're talking half a dozen people, maybe
more -- has done the same!

It's just. . . .   weird!

I'm extremely anal about how I have my figurines positioned.  I keep them square to each other and to the desk top I keep them on.  Hate it when they're moved to be at any other angle.  The only set I have cockeyed are Spider-Man and his Rogue's gallery.  He's in front with Black Cat and his Rogues form a semi-circle behind him.  Every other figurine I have is square.
