Neal Adams managed to create two extremely good looking costumes in just
a few months with Angel and Havok.

••

I wonder why Havok didn't turn blue?

I received notification that they'd shipped, but Nick Fury, the Scarlet Witch,
Kitty Pryde, and Kraven the Hunter arrived today! Woo-hooooo!

I don't remember any highlights on the costume at all. It was like the costume absorbed all light or something. Even when fingers or arms crossed with the body, Neal and Tom didn't bother to draw white lines or whatever. It was just black. Which added to the coolness factor.

BUT, Cockrum and Grainger almost changed that. Fortunately, their example wasn't followed.

Got Kraven, Wanda, Mephisto, and Apocalypse today. Only one small
problem, Mephisto's the fingers on his extended hand were bent. And
straightening them resulted in some paint flaking. Anyone know his color
or a match from the miniature paint from Citadel or whatever it's called.
They have it at my LCS.

So, would that make it black with black highlights?

I just got Yellowjacket. It looks really cool. The Wasp figure sitting on the wing was the winning deal for me. I don't think I would have bothered if the Wasp wasn't there. The boots and gloves are wrong, of course (they are painted on the figure ala FF and they don't stand out ala Cap), but that's all I can complain about.

I now have six/seven figures (Phoenix, Cyclops, Spider-Man, Invisible Girl, Hawkeye and Yellowjacket/Wasp). And I am not bound to stop anytime soon...

He went thru the required leather-jacket phase, with variants.

Yeah...after the original he had the Larry Stroman-designed X-Factor uniform, after that was the suit he wore during his time as Mutant X.  Then there was a Ron Garney variation on his original, and finally the current Billy Tan-designed model, which sort of combines the original and Stroman versions.

I see Midtown Comics is now offering Dormammu and Black Bolt for pre-
order.

Stopped in at my LCS this afternoon to pick up a couple weeks worth of comics and, just as promised, Kraven, Scarlett Witch, Mephisto, and Nova were waiting for me.  What an impressive bunch of figurines!  Kraven is fantastic!  The detail in his fur cowl as well as his print pants is stellar.  Same with the Scarlett Witch, who's dynamic pose is right up there as one of my favorites in the collection.  Mephisto cuts an imposing figure, with another dynamic, iconic pose.  Nova is pretty cool as well, but he's one figurine that I wish they had used his original costume as a model.  That said, since he's a favorite of mine and I'm pretty sure there isn't a huge clamoring for representations of the character, he's now a part of my collection.

If the American releases hold true, as they've been releasing figurines in the 20's two at a time, Cyclops (25) and Ultron (26) should be on the horizon!
