Rather curious that they term these "Magazine with figure" -- like people are buying them for the comic book and, oh yeah, they tossed in a little figurine too.

If you go to the figurine forum, Thom, you'd be surprised how important the magazines are to collectors. I recently threw all my magazines in the recycling bin, pretty much completely unread. Some people don't want a figurine of, say, Giant-Man, because Hank Pym already had a magazine done.

Some people don't want a figurine of, say, Giant-Man, because Hank Pym already had a magazine done.•• It seems that no matter what interests humans create for themselves, there comes with each a collection of people who will create their own arbitrary "rules" within that interest. Looking around at different sites that offer these figurines, I found one that lists the magazines, with the figures as an an "also", as if they are not the main reason for accumulating these items. Like Ryan, I usually toss out the magazine unread. For one thing, there's WAY too much eyeball-hurting art in them!

Hmm… since I have no interest in the magazine sold with the figurines I leave them at the shop counter.
Perhaps, should I pick them up and sell on eBay ?

From what I've heard, the magazines are what allow them to make the figures; the little lead heroes we've all grown to enjoy so much are basically just a bonus add-on to the published magazine, much like a prize in a Cracker-Jack box is just a bonus to the caramel popcorn, or the toy in a cereal box is just an extra treat with the Frosted Flakes.
Eaglemoss wouldn't be able to make the figurines if they didn't come with a magazine, because the magazine is supposed to be the primary product being sold. As hard as it is to believe... there may be people who buy the magazine and just toss the figure the way some of us just toss the magazine.

I've found a store where I've been able to pick up some other older Marvel figurines I've missed. I've picked up a few for only $10.00 because the magazines were missing and so not "whole". I told them I didn't care and I'll take that price anytime!

In defence of the magazine, they have given me some idea of the best stories featuring the character, which in a few cases has led me to eBay to pick up a tpb here and there. Maybe it isn't helping Marvel's finances, but it must be of use to the secondary market.
I too noticed how they are out-of-date almost immediately. I have suggested to Eaglemoss that as and when new storylines come to pass, they print update paragraphs that we can stick on the back cover of the respective magazine. /kidding

I would love a Giant Man and armours of Iron Man specials (For the figures NOT the magazines). Similarly, I would love an original X-Men special. I fail to believe that this late in the day, the people buying the majority of the most current issues are doing it for the magazines. i would love to see what research Eaglemoss have done, with regards to this series, that shows their point.
