Thanks Ryan, it's still a work in progress but your kind words are appreciated.

Kingpin arrived yesterday. Heavy!!!

Also received the Mary Marvel I plan to convert to Marvel Girl. Such a sadly
twisted interpretation of that Golden Age character. What is WRONG
with those people at DC?

the holiday afforded me a little time to whip out the paints.  nothing special...just a couple of touch-ups:

thought Wolverine would look better in brown (wow...Wolverine needs some touching up. I'm seeing lots of blue).

and figured I'd try to make Havok a bit less awful.  Still not the classic version, but I like him quite a bit more this way.  I'll just have to live with the radiator gloves!

I made my own Havok from a customized Iceman. The figure released by
Eaglemoss was simply too far from the "classic" version to attempt a straight
conversion.

Next, I'm contemplating turning Black Adam into Wyatt Wingfoot.

They know exactly what the fanboys want.

Sure -- and what we would characterize hereabouts as "fanboys" constitute
about the same number of consumers they did when I joined the industry -
- ie, a very small, small number. Back then, they were a marginalized
fringe that publishers deliberately avoided pandering to. Now -- the target
audience.

But ask the people who make these decisions (at either of the Big Two),
and hear 10,000 other reasons for the decline in sales.

I'm still aghast that DC released Batgirl as the Cassandra Cain version. Yeesh.

But back to Marvel...still trying to get the Kingpin on ebay. That fella's gonna be expensive!

Thanks, John, but I just snagged him on ebay for $18, plus $4 for shipping.

He was going to be my last one, but now Annihilus and Batroc are calling to me from the near-future....
