Very nice, Brad. Crystal was a figurine I was waiting for, but gave up on it when I saw the way they had done her hair. If Crystal's hair had been done as well as yours on the original sculpt I wouldn't have passed on it. I envy you customizers who can bring the sculpts closer to the ideal.

Nicely done, Brad. For me, tho, that figure still has the wrong. . . figure. To
get a good Crystal will require, methinks, a fairly major customizing of
somebody else.

The biggest problem for me with the Crystal figurine was the Raggedy Ann hair. She could still stand to be a bit more full figured and her face is still a bit plain. She works well enough for me now to hang out with the other super-heroes.
Thanks for the kudos, guys...I'm really starting to have fun doing these repaints!

Picked up my Absorbing Man the other day - do people want to see a photo?
Have to say that I still really enjoy the magazines. Even when there isn't that much to say as in the case of Crusher Creel they put things in like the History of Marvel - there's a few pages on the pre-code horror era in this one.

Shopping today, came home with Ms Marvel, Mole Man, Black Widow, Ghost Rider and Wonder Man. Long-suffering Wife asks about which figurines I had purchased, so I show her each and tell her their names. At Wonder Man she asks "any relation to Wonder Woman?"
At which I responded, "Well, yeah, kinda, close enough", thinking as a Superman knock-off they've got similarities. So then she says "So now you've got to get Wonder Woman, too".
What a gal!

Leigh, I'd like a look at The Absorbing Man--I thought I had him on order
and he hasn't shown up yet...
But I did pick up Abomination and with the help of a sharpie, threw some
britches on him:
Don't like the base change, but a nice enough version of him.

Gary,
Just a few suggestions re: the "britches" --- on a figure with that much contour, you might want to go with a paint brush, it will increase the coverage/saturation. Also, the shorts are very small... my eye keeps seeing "speedos" which I doubt it what you were looking for.

That Crusher Creel looks more like Sloth from the Goonies than the Absorbing Man.
I finally some some of these in person over the weekend and I can really understand the addiction. they are gorgeous. I am not going to buy one though for fear of turning into you guys with your massive collections.

That Absorbing Man figurine is kind of a mess. I hate the head. Something about it's shape reminds me of the Impossible Man rather than the more bulky bald head associated with the character. There's also something really wrong with it. Crusher Creel "absorbs" or takes on the qualities of the things he touches. While his right arm is correct in that it's changing his body into the steel he's touching, his left arm is still flesh even though he's touching the same steel his right arm is touching. If anything, the sculpt should have had that chain dangling from his right hand to give the effect as it's currently portrayed.
