Four new figures up at MidTownComics -- Deathlock, Moon Knight,
Sabretooth and Winter Soldier. None of any interest to me, alas.

My spellchecker recognizes neither "Sabretooth" nor "Sabertooth"!!

Your commission du jour pushes me further into the Deathlok camp.  Moon Knight for sure.  I'm thinking of doing a GI Joe custom with Winter Soldier.  Sabretooth is doubtful.

I'm kind of surprised, JB.  I would have guessed at least 2 of those 4 might be of interest to you.  Winter Soldier being the obvious(at least to me) exclusion.

Two of the four interest me: Deathlok and Moon Knight.  I'll pass on the other two.

Isn't the Mole Man listed? In the official site there are 5 new figurines, including MM.
Of the five, Sabretooth looks the worst. The Winter Soldier is an unfortunate testimony that Marvel is trying very hard to establish new stories and characters as classic and important. What the hey does WS want with Mole Man in the same line up?!?
Sentry, Winter Soldier, New Havok look, Carnage, Cable Deadpool, New Nova look, New Beast look, New Punisher look, New Captain Marvel to name but a few, really bug me.
The fact that someone can take for example the Sentry and turn him to someone important doesn't really count, either.
I think this is an excellent collection, but they should have tried to live up to the "Classic" they use.
On the other hand, it's fortunate I don't get to buy each and every single on of them. I think my pocket is grateful!

The perils of working late while already short on sleep from the night before.  I've been cleaning up the scribe lines on Electra and decided to trim down her bust by craft knife, file and sandpaper instead of waking up the neighborhood with my Dremel.  Where I'd normally take precautions to protect what I wasn't working on, I just went to town...and sanded off her mouth and nose with one of those sanding sponges.  Now I'll have to get another $15 figure just for a head.  :^(

Are there any female characters that wear a full mask where you can't make out the facial features?  Waste not, want not :^)

Her body is looking good; I've repositioned one arm and one leg without breaking either (a first!), but I still need to do the upper leg once I get my hands on a razor saw.  I'm excited about this figure, I hope she turns out OK.  And no, she's not a member of Alpha Flight.

I bought issue 1 to 5 to my son, so that he could give me a break (because he wanted to PLAY with my Eaglemoss lead characters). With "Tower of Power", he could play with small figurines made of plastic, but this collection was only about the Spiderman universe.

Marvel don't decide what figures come out, Eaglemoss do and they clearly see a market for the figure (which I happen to agree with).

Didn't the Alpha Flight character Nemesis have a full face mask?

Marvel don't decide what figures come out…

••

Since ^^***** dictated the use of the kitty-kat Beast, I'd like a confirmation
from someone on the "inside" before I'd be willing to accept that they have
no say in which figures get produced.

The Mole Man was in MidTown's previous solicitation.

From a Q&A session with Alan Cowsill of Eaglemoss, posted on Steve's forum

************************
1.What is the criteria for choosing which characters are being made? Does Marvel send a listing or does Eaglemoss decide? How are disputes about characters handled?

The team basically choose all the characters. We base it on popularity and, when there's a dispute, a lot of shouting and debating (followed by a bit of name-calling and sulking). Technically I have the final say but both Dan and Gary are bigger than me so I have to tread carefully. Richard's the youngest of the team so we bow to his knowledge of modern characters like Apocalypse and Mr. Sinister and that no one but me is remotely interesting in the original Living Brain. Some figures Marvel ask us for specifically. The Beast was a good example. We tried to go for a classic blue furry version but were asked to do the modern version.
