http://superherofigurineforum.com has to be about the least user friendly site I've seen.
I registered, waited until I got the confirmation e-mail that said I could logon and then attempted to logon about an hour after receiving the e-mail. It kept telling me I'm not a valid member. I figure there must be something wrong with the validation so I select the resend validation e-mail option. It requires you to put in your member name, which, since that's the whole problem, it doesn't recognize. No dice. Then I noticed the "Help" option. I select it and it requires you to log on before it will give any help. Again, no dice. Finally I figure I'll try to contact an admin on the site, and surprise, no link to any form of contact on the areas you can get to without being logged in.

Scott, no need to contact an admin, i'll look into it for you now.
biggest problems we have are folk joining to promote porn sites, and banned members re-registering....without checks in place then we would be swamped with spammers.
feedback of any sort is always welcome, we may have to revisit our viewing/joining policies.
can you e-mail me the user name you chose please, nothing showing up as "scott" tgr@marvelcustoms.co.uk

Without my having made any changes to the settings, my camera has
decided to develop a mind of its own again, so this is the best image I have
to offer of my latest customization job.
Don't have the tools to remove the negabands properly, so Just painted over
them for now. Also thinking about repainting the red with a flat finish.

Excellent, John! If you can ever manage it, I'd love to see a close-up of the head so I can see the mask lines and hair. Sorry about the ongoing camera issues, I seem to get different points of focus all the time without seeming to change anything.

I find that using a mini-tripod helps -- in the past I've used the "macro" setting to get in close to miniature figures, but recently I've discovered that pulling back a bit and then using the zoom to get in-close helps quite a bit with focus issues. I always shoot at the highest resolution giving me a large enough image that I can crop to eliminate unwanted background using Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop, leaving me a tight, close-in image of the figure I'm shooting with good detail.

Nothing to see, really. The hair is so close-cropped on this version that I
was able to paint the mask right over it.

Alas, I have tried all that, Other JB. Sometimes I get the above, and
sometimes I get this. . .
There seems no rhyme or reason to it.

Have you guys just tried taking a close 8.0 megapixel picture, zooming in on the image in that resulting photo and cutting out that part you want?

Do you use a dremel? I got one for christmas and love it. What kind of paint do you use?
