The Electro that my LCS received was broken in the same place as the one
shown. I didn't buy it because of that and the paint on his head bolts looked
too thick. I might skip Electro altogether.

The insanity begins to take hold -- just ordered my second figure from eBay, found a good deal on an Ultron figure.  Technically, I suppose this will be my FIRST, because the first figure I acquired is still a work-in-progress pending conversion to a classic red-and-gold Iron Man figure.

The impending arrival of my Ultron figure got me motivated to drag out my Iron Man conversion project last night -- I had previously stripped the figure I'm converting down to the bare metal and I have re-shaped the legs to remove some previous detailing, but I still needed to do some final clean-up to dig the paint out of the etched grooves and such.

Much to my delight, I discovered that acetone -- when used on a cotton ball, anyway -- does not damage the base (I stripped the base as well as the metal figure, and I still needed to clean up some of the paint on the "MARVEL" lettering).  Not sure if the base would survive an acetone bath, but acetone on a cotton ball had no effect on the plastic-like material (not sure if it's plastic, or epoxy, or what).

I discovered last night that I will probably need to re-shape the donor figure's traps (the trapezius muscles) in order to do the classic red-and-gold neck ring properly.  Thankfully, the lead carves easily with an X-acto knife, and I'll be re-shaping the entire torso area with epoxy putty, so I'll be able to further re-shape and smooth the traps then.

Some "new" ones posted for pre-order at MidTown. "Havok", Falcon, and
Ms. Marvel. She's definitely on my list, but I'll need to see the Falcon "in
person" to determine how much work would be entailed in a repaint.
"Havok". . . . well, my use of quotation marks says it all.

Will you be repainting Falcon's costume the original green-and-reddish-
brown or the second red-and-white combo, JB?

Absorbing man looks great.  Only one very minor quibble; I wish his wrecking ball was a little bigger.
