For some reason, I never really dug the Martian Manhunter. Seemed like the bastard offspring of Superman and Batman with a rather arbitrary weakness and enough "extra" powers to beat Superman rather handily. In other words, almost a ready-made Mary Sue.
However, I got to like J'Onn quite well through Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, so... I suppose anyone can change their feelings for a character eventually. Right?

I think the "JLA" cartoons brought Martian Manhunter a lot of new fans, Andrew. I know most of my customers who first discovered the JLA from the cartoons consider him their favorite member.
Cool picture, JB!

Wow. This was a pleasant surprise. (One of the things I dislike about the animated Martian Manhunter is his long face.)

JB, did the commissioner ask for this more recent version of the Martian Manhunter; I seem to recall the silver age version did not have the pronounced ridge on his forhead. Do you have any preference?

Nice piece, JB.
Incidentally, the Martian Manhunter has always been one of those characters I've enjoyed when I've encountered him (mostly through various incarnations of JLA), but that I don't think I've ever read any solo stuff with. Hence I am a bit curious about the up-coming Showcase volume. Is there anybody in the know who could give me pointers on the material that'll be in that volume?

I opened the thread and my 3-year-old screamed, " John Jones!" A testament to your ability, JB, when a young youngster can recognize characters like that without color. Kudos.

Looks like you have now drawn the entire core of the JLA in character pose format. Are there any secondary league members who you are itching to draw in character pose?

Oohhhh-kay -- suddenly I see a problem with this
new Forum section.
How will people find the NEW posts if people keep
bumping old ones?
