Seperating Bat and man on the logo sort of confuses things, but makes for a great logo.

My then-14-year-old cousin got me into comics when I was 12, and one of my first dozen comics was "Fantastic Four" 275. When I mentioned to him how much I liked John Byrne, my cousin started laughing at me.

"It's pronounced John BYE-ron," he said. "You can call him 'John Byrne' if you want to, but you'll get laughed out of every comic store in the country."

I know better now, but it took years -- and it was enough of a traumatic "People will MOCK you!" moment that I still get jittery about botching the name. Heck, I'm worried right now.

Add in the constant what about "Super-Man" questions and my head is going to explode. The thread is barely two pages long and how many smart ass responses have included this gem?

It was an obvious sarcastic attempt at humor.  I guess I'm going to have to include some emoticons in the future.

Thanks Darragh. That's actually how I would have pronounced it spontaneously, so I guess I'm fairly up to snuff on me Irish.

I would've thought "spell-checker"...
Seriously though, however we spell that infernal thing, vex it to death, no mercy!

There are worse things to be called than "Brain" though, Brian. Wouldn't you agree?

I just try to take it as a compliment.
