Is it possible that some of the horrible costumes of the 90s and today is because super-heroes are being treated more like a generic fantasy or sci-fi genre instead of its own distinct entity?  Because beyond good or bad, some of these things don't look like costumes or uniforms at all, but like the clothes from some Lord of the Rings knock-off or direct-to-video Star Trek wannabe.

Okay, Storm changed then lost powers, Gained powers back and if I remember right hair all in one issue.  I haven't read much Xmen in 10 years so it is a little fuzzy.  Thanks Vinny for the issue numbers.  Xmen lost me way back with Inferno and the coming of Jim Lee/ Rob Liefield/ and the rest.  I still did not mind punk Storm.  It was just a phase.  Noone else has gone through a fashion phase they would not like to forget.  I still have some Zubas and Big Johnson T-Shirts in my closet somewhere.  It's not real far fetch for it to happen.  It wasn't like Blue and Red Superman bad.

I liked change in X-Men cause it happened progressively. It wasn't "NOW I HAVE CHANGED 4 NO REASON!!!" (unless they were being possessed by evil)

I think the 90s fad came from Japanimation and Manga. The fantasy stuff has some pretty scary fashions.

You know in 10 years we are going to be talking about how stupid looking all the Ultimate universe costumes are.

You mean Bobble head Spiderman with the huge head and eyes and little body.  He would be on the list.  Very low on a list of Ultimate fashion disasters, but still on the list.  I do really like Mark Bagely, but shrink that noggin a little.

Are you sure Bagley did the cover? Doesn't look like the Bagley I remember.

It's Bagley.

I like his version of Spidey.  Actually makes him look like a kid.
