Also, not so much a bad costume (ok, the costume sucked, too) but Bishop's hockey-hair, afro-mullet 'do...

Even though we'd already seen her face her past and reveal her deep security with her "inner self" in stories like X-Men 122 and 142 where she took over as leader of the X-Men.  All the X-Men slowly developed worse and worse neuroses as time went by, didn't they?

---------------------------

in fact for a woman who didn't like to be constrained (not even by clothes) she ended up wearing really tight leather...

Nostalghia blinds me-- I love those old Angel costumes.  The "suspenders" one especially.

Madalyne Pryor, being part of the Cable lineage, has only one shoulder-pad.  The other came from Cable's father.

My reaction to that cover:

"I think she dislocated her ass!"

and

"What's up with the dude's gut!?"

Looking at some of the drawings posted in this thread I find my mind slipping back to a letter I got when doing FANTASTIC FOUR, after the first time I used the Inhumans. The writer excoriated me for my "oversized Gorgon" and "scrawny Karnak".

If he was still reading comics when the 90s rolled around, his head must have exploded!!
