It took an eternity to turn from page 1 to page 2.  Just kept rolling over that line in my mind.  "It is good."  It's Doom thinking like he's god was my realisation at the time.

If a person wants to get to "know" Doctor Doom, this is an excellent issue to read.  Page #s 6 and 11 are standouts!

I agree that this issue is the perfect summation of Doom.  Lee and Kirby of course, are the masters at writing Doom, but they slowly developed his character over many issues.  This is the best single issue depiction of him.  Powerful, majestic, noble, and malevolent.

This is one of my all-time favorite comics.  I wish more comics would take the time to really flesh-out their villians the way JB flehsed-out Doom and his world.

First FF issue that I purchased.  That art hooked me into a Byrne fan.

I loved this story when it came out.  Still do.  Doom at home in his castle in Latveria.  A Classic!

I was sooo glad JB fixed that little incident. I couldn't believe my eyes and waited for Doom to fry the little punk but no. I was outraged and Doom wasn't!

I've heard the stories that say it was merely part of a tit for tat between JB and the writer but I never believed those stories about motivation. Rather, it was about addressing the worst single moment in the characterization of Dr. Doom EVER. And JB's sole desire was to make things right.

And he did.

Well, third worst incident. The second worst involved Squirrel Girl. The first worst involved Rage and a cupcake.
