Wow...i think that FF with Mr. Byrne became a title for doing bold moves and experiments. This issue is a masterpiece!

Finally, the classic.  This is where I got a majority of the inspiration for my commission.  This storyline actually showed a softer side of Doom we rarely see.

OK, maybe frying Hauptmann wasn't the kindest thing to do, but it was nice to see Victor ruling as a proud monarch and the prosperity of Latveria under his rule.

One thing I have always wondered about these issues was the numbering.  This storyline runs from 258-260 and the original storyline where Doom steals the Power Cosmic runs from 57-60.  Was this mere coincidence or a tip of the hat to Stan, Jack and Joe?

One of my favorite covers ever.

And the interiors are pretty cool too!

Best single issue portrayal of Doom and one of the best issues of the FF ever!

I love the Kirby-esque "Power Cosmic" machine and the the disposal of Hauptmann.

I wonder if JB got any pushback from editorial or Shooter for leaving the actual FF out of this issue?

Great issue. One of the greatest Doctor Doom stories ever. Favorite moments are when Dr. Doom holds Kristoff in his arms, the return of Terrax, and the first panel where he is overseeing Latveria being rebuilt. Classic.

I hope current and future comic creators read this issue. It is a great
template for everyone to follow.

I've loved this line since the moment I read it:

"I see.  And in what manner did you terminate Arcade for this affront to the personage of Doom?"

Just so matter of fact...

Love the issue! Such great scheming by the master villain!

And I think that from all the FF issues by JB this one features the best Dr. Doom artwise.
