Beliefs about him being capable to kill? I dunno that even in his Mr. Fixit persona he had gotten to the point of intentionally killing, though I'd have to dig those issues out. Maestro, PAD's future Hulk, is a bloodthirsty killer. Though I'm against the Hulk as a killer, this futuristic version has not bothered me and I view it as very similar to Miller's original Dark Knight series.... very solid reads that do not reflect the "reality" of the character, but dark "what if/elseworlds" stories.

Am I incorrect in my recollection of the Hulk's intent (after his first transformation) to murder Rick Jones?

"Does anyone believe the multiple personality angle for the Hulk has given reason to all these beliefs?"
What the MPD thing did is change the Hulk, as I believe I read someone else put it, from "Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde" to "Sybil". Sybil-Hulk isn't an uninteresting or unappealing character, but I think a lot of fans and even creators today don't really remember or appreciate the original Hulk concept and/or don't know how to get back to it.

He's strong, angry, and kills people.
That's what the Hulk is all about, right?

Bruce Banner, like a member mentioned, created the Gamma Bomb to kill and The HULK is a reflection of it. His intent to kill Rick Jones seems right. His intent to destroy a tree, a living thing, is right on parr. His intent to destroy buildings, where people are working or living in, and not considering there are Human lives there is a killer.
All the destruction The Hulk has caused, he must have killed someone.

I dunno Sam. I always saw the "smach" Hulk as a tantruming child. Even if deaths occured, would he be a killer? Intent is everything here.

That's reality intruding again, Sam. Hulk only kills if a writers decides he
does.

David Whiteley: "That's reality intruding again, Sam. Hulk only kills if a writers decides he

Actually, what you describe is the intrusion of reality. Every single
action taken by every single comics character is at the hands of a
writer. It's a given.
If we drop the suspension of disbelief and examine these creations for
what they are, this conversation has no relevance. The answer to the
question posed in the thread title is: If a writer decides he is. And
no further discussion is required.

What is the reason Thunderbolt Ross had this fixation in killing The Hulk?
Where did things go wrong? Where was the definitive hint of "Uh Oh!" in the books?

I'm not sure if you are agreeing with me or someone claiming I stated
otherwise, L. Of course what I describe is the intrusion of reality, since I said,
"that's reality intruding again."
My point is that people are looking at the destruction caused by the Hulk
and claiming people must have died. In real life, surely people would die in
that type of destruction. In a comic, though, we've gotten used to the idea
that people can escape intact. UNLESS a writer decides to depict otherwise.

Originally, General Ross perceived the Hulk as a threat, because Hulk was the big, brutish-looking monster. It was that simple. It didn't help when General Ross learned later that Hulk was really Bruce Banner, a man Ross despised because he perceived Banner (who was dating Ross's daughter) as not being a real man.
