 QUOTE:
Oh, and since no one else seems to have mentioned it, one of the most memorable slugfests was in FF 40, The Thing vs. Dr. Doom.  The Thing crushing Doom's gloves, in particular.

That's certainly memorable, though it seemed like the Thing "owned" Doom in that contest.

Anyone remember Blockbuster?

***

I try not to -- tho I do recall Roger Stern's idea for an
inner city anti-Blockbuster facility filling an entire
block -- the Blockbuster Busterblock.

Just about any Superman vs. Captain Marvel fight scene is good, too!

Fantastic Four #25 and #26. You have the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Hulk. Great battle.

Jack Kirby's Fourth World #9. Orion vs Kalibak.

Fantastic Four #57-60. This is the one where Doctor Doom had acquired the Power Cosmic.

Fantastic Four #112. Thing vs Hulk

Something M***l is missing now a days, good old fashion knock out drag out fights, whole issues had to deal with fights. I miss that that.

Miracleman Vs Kid Miracleman - both times. Best superhero fight(s) I have ever seen before or since.

My faves aren't the one-on-one fights, but the battle royale fights, such as:

!) Avengers vs. Count Nefaria
2) X-Men vs. The Imperial Guard
3) Avengers vs. Graviton
4) Just about all of the "Crisis on . . . " JLA/JSA annual cross-overs done by Dick Dillin

I also really, REALLY liked the Iron Man vs. the Hulk smack-down where Shellhead took out the Hulk with a single punch but fused his armor in the process (the follow-on issue where Scott Lang as Ant-Man had to enter Stark's armor ranks up there as one of the all-time great comics, IMO).

I don't remember the issue number but Jim Starlin drew a fantastic Superman/Mongul clash in a Paul Levitz scripted issue of DC Comics Presents.

Also enjoyed the fight between Iron Man and the Submariner in Tales to Astonish.
