The Thing.

I actually liked the snowman look for Iceman.

That's downright scary, Bruce.  I thought I was the only one who preferred Iceman's old look.

The Thing's transformation made him more iconic, identifiable, and (this is important) merchandisable.  His new look became one of the most recognizable visuals in comics.

Iceman's simply made it look as if his use of his powers was becoming more... polished.

Once again, pretty much forever and always, the title goes to Benjy. How does that guy stay so humble...?

I sorta wish they'd named Iceman Snowman and kept him the way he was (of course, then I'd be saying today "Why's he called Snowman; he makes stuff outta ice?), so I'll go with rocky Ben being the bigger upgrade.

Wednesday 11/26 toss-up: [your upgrade choice from yesterday] versus The Beast's upgrade from being a tough-talkin' type to a loquacious expositor of his internecine monologue?

I always dug the Beast when I didn't understand what the hell he was saying.

When I was a kid (well a little kid as opposed to being the big kid I am now), I always used to try and speak in a similar fashion to the inimitable Mr (Dr?) McCoy. So I must choose him for the positive benefit he had on my vocabulary!
