Thursday 11/20 toss-up: Batman - long-eared cowl or short-eared cowl?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Long-eared cowl. Loved the way Bob Kane (or whoever was his ghost in the late 1930s), Marshall Rogers, Bernie Wrightson, and Todd McFarlane drew it. Also thought the way Carmine Infantino drew it in the '80s Brave and the Bold was cool. Finally, I loved the way JB drew it in MoS.

That's a tough on, I think I prefer the short-ears, but the long ones do look more menacing.

Short ears. 'Cause that's the way Neal Adams drew 'em and he is the ultimate Batman artist, as far as I'm concerned.

I was thinking long ears was how Adams drew 'em... they didn't get longer
than that, did they?

Bernie Wrightson and Marshall Rogers drew them longer. But you're right, Neal Adams did start the long ear craze (and it's a good craze).

In my mind, I always considered Adams' Batman to be short-eared. I guess I was comparing his work to Marshall Rogers, who was the artist when I first started reading Batman.
So then put me in the long ear camp!
