They say there's only two basic plots - and each is an inversion of the other:

  1. A boy goes on a journey.
  2. A stranger comes to town.

The origins of Batman and Superman cover both grounds very well.  Superman's origin is just too cool.  A whole planet is destroyed, and that's something.

Sunday 10/26 toss-up - which return was more major: Captain America in the pages of The Avengers, or Namor in Fantastic Four?
