Golden Age Flash.
Never bought Flash during the Barry Allen era. The few that I did usually had Jay in them. Barry bored me to tears. Dull as dishwater.
The basic concept was fine, but no one seemed to do much with him.

This one is really really close. I like both Barry and Jay as characters, so I'm going to let the costume be the tie-breaker. Golden Age Flash wins.

I picked Barry, but I wouldn't have a problem with DC "resetting" with Jay as the Flash. It's Wally and/or Bart as the #1 speedster that I just can't make my brain accept.

It took a long time, but I finally got used to Wally...then POOF! he's gone...and Bart just doesn't seem like an adult. The current series was awful for the first few issues, but I'll say that it improved with the last issue, Guggenheim's first, but I still don't like the switch to Bart.

Wally and his fellow original Teen Titans (plus Wonder Girl) should still be teens in my head, so it's hard for me make the leap to accepting him as old enough to fill Barry's boots. (I didn't have quite as much of a problem with it on the Justice League animated series, though it still seemed odd.) What's the art like for Guggenheim's first issue?

Wallace, its the same art team as for the previous writer. I'm not overly impressed with the art either, but my main problem with the first 8 issues was the story just didn't pop. Guggenheim's first issue was more engaging. So far, so good.
