Going to go with Eastwood.  I love Allen the writer-director (he has a method where he writes dialogue for characters that they don't get to say due to being interrupted).  I find that interesting.  But Eastwood has a charmingly economical style - actors rave at how he gets performances out of just a few takes, and his pictures are always on time and under budget.  Plus Allen hires babes and never does nudity.  Grr.

On to part two:

Today's Toss-Up (Wednesday, 10/8): Who ya like more as an actor/director, Kenneth Branaugh or Mel Gibson?

Gibson - all other issues aside - just doesn't have the acting chops that
Branaugh has, even though he's a hell of a director.

I'll have to go with Branaugh on this one.

Oh, and I just want to take this opportunity to say 'sugar tits'.

I've only ever seen Brannagh's Frankenstein and it was horrible.
Braveheart, Apocolyptico were excellent movies so, Gibson it is.

Can't think of anything I've seen Branaugh direct or star in. So, by default I'll go with Gibson. I know I've seen a couple of things he's been in. Don't think I've seen anything he's directed though.
