Waid & Garney for me too, Paul, but I am going to shy away from asking about DeMatteis & Gruenwald.

TODAY'S TOSS-UP (3/11):

Post Crisis, specifically because that era contains JB's run.

I'll vote for Man of Steel Post Crisis, because this was my first long-term exposure to Superman. I can say nothing but good things about the Pre-Crisis Superman that I have read (which still isn't a lot). Those contained a lot of fun stories. But I choose to go with what I know better.

Post crisis Man of Steel.
I was able to hang in off and on after the death, until electric blue Superman, when I finally threw in the towel and dropped it.

Both contain elements I like but I'll go with post-Crisis Man of Steel.
