Ledger's.  The first time I've ever really seen the Joker as a credible threat.  I've always felt that a good SWAT team could handle the Joker until The Dark Knight.  That was a Joker that needed Batman.

Two-Face. First Batman story I read by Neal Adams was a two face story.
(Started with Batman in a swamp watching as an old galleon rises to the
surface. Spooky stuff...)

Al, I think that story is called "Half an Evil." And, yes, it is a fantastic story, as the Adams/O'Neil Batman stories almost always are.

While the Joker is a great villain, I'll go with Two-Face. I like the idea that he once was a decent man who, deep down, still has traces of that goodness, even though he's capable of some evil things.
