Having just seen DARK KNIGHT for the 2nd time yesterday (1st time was a DC screening so I had to take my son), I've gotta go with Ledger. And the night before, we watched him playing the "tough teen" in 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, which made his Joker particularly surreal.

I never understood why people made such a big deal of Nicholson's Joker - way too cartoony for me. I always thought the Joker should exude a menacing quality, which I found absent in his portrayal in 1989's BATMAN.
Ledger for me.
