very hard call to make -very hard -- Perez's first run on Avengers, along with (Dick Dillin on JLA) majorly shaped my comic book interst towards teams - which in turn, lead me to picking up JB's X-Men (oooh look at all those characters!) -- both both men's work on Avengers, including JB's WACO, and Perez's JLA/Avengers (both published and unpublished versions) are definitivly the best of the best --between them there is no right or wrong answer, but to pick, i'll say Perez, for going first, and last.

Layton's Hercules (I do not associate Byrne with Hercules like I do Layton)

Kirby's Fantastic Four (although Byrne's may hold a sweeter spot in my childhood)

Byrne's X-Men (easiest decision)

Byrne's Avengers (close call)

Layton's Hercules

It's gotta be a tie: Kirby and JB's FF (one can't be expected to choose between their children, and I find having to pick one over the other a nigh-impossible task).

JB's X-Men

JB's Avengers

I haven't read JB's Hulk yet, but I have read Buscema's.  For the nonce, I'll go with Sal's !
