Professor X. No flip-flop this time, although JB's Chief was VERY intriguing and left me wanting more. And don't get me started on the Civil War ghost with the crush. That was awesome.

Niles Caulder. As a kid, I found the scene of the DP making up a birthday for him and his response to the gesture very touching. I was sad to think that he was dead, and glad to find out that he had a wife who was willing to investigate and avenge his death. When Kupperberg got the okay to bring back the DP, and wrote Arani as a crazed stalker, I was greatly disappointed. Further revisions have made me even less enamored of modern comics writing.
Nothing against Charles, mind you, (Charlie, Chuck, whatever...) but the original Arnold Drake version of the Chief has been a favorite of mine for years and years...

I'm with the Professor.
TODAY'S TOSS-UP (2/22):
The original X-Men or the original Doom Patrol?
JB, I know you do not play TOSS-UP, but if you see this, I would like you to pick one today, please.

Why do you hate me, Pugliese?
I'm gonna have to go with the Doom Patrol on this one. I love the whole team, whereas I only really loved Cyclops, Beast, Marvel Girl and Xavier in the X-Men.
It's reeeaally close, though.

Lessee - they both flew pretty much under my radar, but since I totally missed out on the whole original X-Men until AFTER the All-New, All-Different X-Men, I am going to give the edge to the Doom Patrol, whom I first encountered in a large digest-style edition at my grandmother's house.
