Dan, one thing I can tell you about JR Jr. . . . .

Bruce (& Wallace) -

I appreciate the thougths !  I have no doubt that JRjr is talented, as he has been in the industry for a long time.  And if I was a penciller, there would be things I would see in his art that I would definitely appreciate.  Not working behind the scenes, I have no way of appreciating how his art is a catalyst to make stories better.  And I am glad that he has fans like yourselves !  I am not trying to be unkind in my thoughts.  Just trying to "poliltely express" an opinion that says "I don't enjoy JRjr's art".  I think we all have our heroes in the comic industry both authors and artists or those that command both skills.  For me, JB is definitely a hero.  But, JRjr is not.

I can get why some might partially not get JR Jr. but I don't get how they can totally not get him.

JRjr RAWKS! I've bought stuff I knew was going to be execrable because he
was doing the art (like the first Cable mini-series years ago - hated, hated,
hated that character, but damn JR's stuff made it look good!)

He also made JMS's run ASM readable.  Some of his best work ever, imo.  I'm going to draw the line at KICK ASS, though.

Sure, Dan.  My comment wasn't offered in opposition to yours.  I just think Jr.'s art fits "big" characters pretty well.  His Iron Man looks neat, too.  Conversely, I was not a huge fan of his Spider-Man.

John Byrne - JRjr is a nice guy, and a good artist but his style just doesn't work for me

Magik over White Witch

FX vs Kick Ass - I'm sorry but there is no contest. FX has a fun story with great art, Kick Ass has great art. Both have equally high standards of art but Wayne beats Mark Millar on plot. FX wins hands down.

John Byrne vs John Romita Jr - I'm off to sit in the corner and rock back and forth cos Ted has just burned out my brain.
