Definitely Thor.  Hercules is cool though.  But he was never a frontliner for Marvel.  Great character and I've been enjoying him lately in my Champions and Stern's run on Avengers re-reads.

I'm gonna add that Hercules, when following JB's "specialist rule" should be the second-strongest Earth-based superperson in the MU behind only the Hulk.

And as much as I enjoyed the issue JB did when Iron Man, Namor, Hercules and Wonder Man fought the Hulk, I always thought it seemed a little out of character for Herc to turn away from the jade giant to help his buddies beat Doc Samson.  I remember reading his rationale (something like: a foe who fights with brains as well as brawn and thus a more worthwhile opponent for Hercules) and even as a 12-yr old I thought, "No way would Hercules turn down the oppourtunity to fight a monster so savage and formidible that only he might -- MIGHT have a chance of stopping him").

I realize that is was an acceptable use of writing to further the story but still, I would have loved to see that one-on-one fight much more than Doc Samson vs. Hulk which we got next issue.  Oh well.

I agree that Hercules should be stronger than Thor.
