Hmm, The whole Thanos kill the universe thing was really good. I'd have to pick him over the Big Red Cheese, unless someone starts to right a grand story featuring him on the scale of the Thanos storyline.

I prefer the short haired Black Widow ala Frank Miller.

I take Superman over Captain Marvel

Original Captain Marvel over the Marvel Comics Captain Marvel.

Shazam! Captain Marvel in a walk -- i've really only liked Mar-vell in "the Death of . . ", perhaps the best single story i've read, but that's It -- i've liked Nearly every iteration of Shazam! Marvel - until the most recent two . . ::sigh::

Catching up...

- Aurora's original costume and look over the yellow, short-haired version.

- Black Widow's long-haired, black costume look over the gray costume (or her 1960s look, for that matter). To me, this is one of the easiest calls ever. The black costume is perfect for the character - dangerous and sexy. I have no idea why anyone felt the need to tamper with it.

- Superman over Captain Marvel (Shazam!) any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Hard to beat the original.

- Captain Marvel (Shazam!) over the Marvel Comics Captain Marvel.

I never got into the latter character at all. I recently read a TPB collecting the legendary Jim Starlin run on the character and it nearly bored me to tears. That's no knock on Starlin; just that the character and his mythos do nothing for me. But I'm not a big fan of cosmic heroes to begin with.
