I'll go with Archangel. Normally, I don't like attempts to make characters "darker," but I never cared much for Angel before his transformation. He was my least favorite (and, in my opinion, the most poorly defined) of the original X-Men, so I found Archangel to be an improvement.

I didn't like the blue skin or the metal wings with poison feathers on him, but unfortunately, I had to take the bad with the good. He was more enjoyable as a character when he was Archangel.
Besides, it's a cooler name that never was co-opted by a bug-girl.
