JB's Superman. Before that, I was solely a Marvel reader. JB's Superman was a bridge from one universe to another.

Walt's Thor I have only read  the Bata-Ray Bill saga.  Which I liked.  While John's work on Superman I have read all of it so I will have to go with John's Superman.

Tails.  Walt Simonson's Thor.  Both were huge steaming ladles of excellence, though.

Very hard to pick, because both, in my mind, are the definitive runs on their respective book.

However, I will pick Simonson's Thor for one reason. There have been other good, even great, Superman runs before and after JB's work. However, when you are talking about great Thor runs, it pretty much begins and ends with Simonson.

I like the both, surely my 2 favorites comics runs (And my 2 favorites characters) but if I must choose one:

JB's Superman, because JB draws and narrates better than Walt.

JB's Superman.  Brought me over to DC for the first time and I've thrown boatloads of money at them since then.
