Batman.  Scarier.  If I saw Superman, I'd feel relief that he's there looking out for me.  If I saw Batman, I'd be wondering what I did wrong.  Batman scratches that dark guilty place inside every Catholic (and lapsed Catholic as well).  I like that.

edit: And I'm back in the first-responders club!  Hoody hoo!

I prefer Superman. He is the most powerful person on the planet and he is also the most humble and caring person. He doesn't allow for ego, he just does good things because they are the right thing to do. He is what every person should aspire to be.

Superman. Although I was a fan of the pre-crisis Batman I've never liked the character after his COIE reboot. Superman I've always liked. I know the post IC Batman is supposed to be more like his pre-crisis counterpart, but I'll wait to see how his character develops before I decide if I like this "new" Batman.

Superman. He inspires you to do your best, not just for yourself but for everyone. He makes you want to do the right thing without any reward or personal glory as the outcome of your actions.

Twenty or even 10 years ago, I would've said Batman. But today, it would have to be Superman.

Forget the powers - that's not what defines him. Superman embodies everything that is decent, caring and kind. He's the ultimate "good guy."

In a society where bad behavior often is celebrated, we need Superman now more than ever.
