Loyal to Marvel. Purchased many, many titles.
DC titles I can recall buying: Wrightson's Swamp Thing, Perez's
Titans, JB's Superman (plus Legend). I think that's it.

Lately DC. I'm down to one Marvel book. In the old days it was about 50/50

I for one couldn't possibly choose between Superman and Batman. They are both hugely important archetypes in the "modern mythology" of superheroes. I think they are both neccesary to the overall idea of superheroes as it exists after almost 70 years of its history.
As a reader, I think they are both equally interesting in their respective ways.
As a writer, if I were given the choice of writing about one of the other, while it would still be a difficult decision, I think Batman would win in the end.

I'm a DC guy; my first comic books were Superboy 184, 186, and 187 (still
on the rack at the same time); Justice League of America 98 and 99 (same
deal); and Superman 252, 253, and 254; however, in the 1980's, I was
buying far more Marvel titles than DC titles.
* Incidentally, my first Marvel comics were Marvel Team-Up 1 and an issue
of Marvel's Greatest Comics that reprinted Fantastic Four 49.

Between Superman and Batman, I've always chosen Superman, even though
Batman often "looked cooler."

Superhero themes I prefer Marvel, but for adult themed books I love DC's Vertigo line.

Although I love Superman, when he's handled by a capable creator, I've been a Batman fan for nearly as long as I've been a Spider-Man fan. I just like the concept behind the character and find what drives him much more interesting. He's also got one of the best costumes in comics.
Interesting thought that just came to me. Spider-Man, as I've already mentioned, is my all-time favorite character. Batman comes a close second. Both have great costumes, fantastic Rogue's Galleries, and wonderful supporting casts. Coincidence? I don't think so!

Like Matt, I'm a Marvel guy at heart. But that company doesn't "speak" to me any more. I also think that DC is trying to get me to stop buying comics again. I'm not happy with the "killings du jour" that have been happening, along with the rapes & out-of-character characters. There's still some good there, but I'm starting to get Jaded (speaking of a killing du jour!).

I'm a Marvel zombie through and through. Loved them since I was a kid and still do now.
DC - I tend to only get when a fave is working there (such as JB) or when there's a quality project - I'm loving 52 right now.
