Post-Crisis Lex

John Byrne's Man of Steel

George Perez's Wonder Woman

*****

Mind you, I liked the old versions, too, but these were all intelligent and appropriate updates/upgrades to venerable characters.

George's series was much better than anything that came before, and I love his artwork, but for me, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez will always be THE Wonder Woman artist.

Now this is a tough one. But Miller wins in a photo-finish.

By "Silver Age Batman,"are we talking about the O'Neil/Adams/Giordano era of the early '70s or the campy stuff inspired by the TV show in the '60s?

If we are talking about the former, then Silver Age Batman. Miller's "Dark Knight" was fantastic, but the work that Denny O'Neil and Neal Adams did in the 1970s is the zenith of the character, in my opinion. They made Batman a detective first and foremost - deadly serious but never psychotic. Determined, but never losing sight of the reason he was fighting - namely, to protect the innocent.

Miller's work was great, but no one did Batman better than O'Neil and Adams.

I've never read Miller's, so Silver Age.

Silver Age Batman, because it includes O'Neil/Adams and Aparo.

By the way, Ted, love the Wonder Woman drawings. Looks like you've got a young comics fan there.

Since you included Year One, Frank Miller wins.  Dark Knight only works for me because it wasn't canon.
