The Chief!  JB continues to seek new ways to do things and challenge himself and I don't think I see that coming from CC.

I've only enjoyed Mr. Claremont's writing when paired with JB's art or Alan Davis'.

John Byrne

Back when I first "met" Chris, as the writer of X-Men, I would have said I
loved his writing and JB's art. But then seeing Chris' writing while not teamed
with JB, and JB's writing solo, I have to say that everything of Chris' writing
that I liked was because of JB.

Since you asked.

Okay, I'm back after a week at the beach. Maybe I'll catch up later today, but for now, I'll just address today's Toss-Up: JB's Luthor wins by a country mile.

JB made Luthor a truly dangerous villain worthy of the Man of Steel - a foe whose ruthlessness and cunning makes him the most dangerous man alive. The Silver Age Luthor was too often just another mad scientist type.

As for yesterday's question, it reinforces my belief that Chris Claremont is the most underappreciated legend in comics. I'm hoping he'll get his due as one of the all-time greats some day.
