Glad I wandered back after my nap!  While I like Waid, Busiek's one of those writers I buy everything with his name on it.  That sentence sucked, but I just woke up, so...

Michael Golden.  Micronauts still rocked, no matter what I might think of him today.

uh, I like Golden's art... what's the question?  Haven't been thrilled with the way Gerry was treated... both have behaved badly... golden wins only because I like his purty pitchers

I must be out of the loop, 'cause I'm not aware of the Michael Golden controversy.

But to answer the question...I'll go with McFarlane. Sure, he became the poster child for Everything Wrong with Comics in the 1990s (and perhaps deservedly so). But his work with writer David Michelinie on Amazing Spider-Man was great and helped take the book to new heights of popularity.

(Okay, I just found the thread on Golden. Man, is that scummy.)

One grows roses and one screws his fans out of commissions!

Just based on the look of the art, I'd have to pick Golden.

Based solely on art and body of work . . .

Michael Golden

All things aside, I would say Golden.

His best days were better than McFarlane's.
