I know I voted for the Invaders above, but I do have to chime back in and say that the Human Bomb is one of the coolest of the "powers as a curse" heroes of all time.  This is a man with good cause for being just a little mad at the world.  When you go up against the Human Bomb, you know the gloves are coming off...! (Little Human Bomb joke there...)

Unfortunately, the rest of the Fighters, such as the Ray, Black Condor, and Doll Man do little for me... Although Doll Man does have a better-than-average creative pedigree. For the most part, the Freedom Fighters were a comic I followed for Uncle Sam, the Human Bomb, and Ramona Fradon.  Oh, and because it looked like they killed Wonder Woman in issue five.  What the---?  I had to see what that was all about... The appeal of the negligee clad Phantom Lady escaped me at the time. I can see good reason to appreciate her tastes in fashion now, though...

To answer the Independence Day question, Captain America and the Invaders - no contest! Any book with Captain America is a winner in my book.

As far as today's question goes, I can't vote for either. I just never got into the Legion - a good friend of mine swears they are great, but I just never saw the appeal.

Well, I'm gonna say Cosmic Boy wins based on costume here.

But coupling how I love lightning symbols, plus the early costume:

   Ride the Lightning!
