Catching up from the weekend...
Artists - Group 1
1. Joe Kubert
2. Carmine Infantino
3. Curt Swan
4. Gil Kane
However, I could easily change the order of #2-4 and be happy with that list. To me, Kubert is an easy #1, but the rest are all real close
Artists - Group 2
1. John Byrne
2. Neal Adams
3. Steve Ditko
4. John Buscema
For art alone, I'd put Adams at #1, but you've got to consider JB's considerable prowess as a writer, too. That puts him over the top for me. Hard to believe I've got Ditko at #3, considering how much I like his work, but this is a tough list.
Chad's bonus question
Superman, Spider-Man and Batman over Tarzan, the Shadow and Doc Savage. This is an easy one for me - I'm a superhero comic book fan first and foremost.
Rank the heroes
1. Spider-Man
2. Superman
3. Batman
4. Fantastic Four
Unless you put Captain America on the list, Spider-Man will always rank #1 in my book. He's the first hero I got into as a kid and I've read more Spider-Man comics than any other character.
I've gone back-and-forth on Batman and Superman. As a teenager, I liked Batman better, but in adulthood, I guess I've come to consciously admire the ideals Superman represents a little more. To me, he's the ultimate "good guy" in the D.C. universe (just as Cap holds that spot in Marvel) - and that's why I like him.
