They weren't obvious, they couldn't be, the Comics Code wouldn't allow it, but what you are (or were) arguing is that Northstar was turned gay, something that simply isn't true.
Jacob the fact that neither you or anyone else can easily point to the hints of Norhstars gayness in the comic (not JBs FAQs page) proves my point. Anyone reading back in the 80s who didn't have a gaydar or know JBs intentions would think that Northstar was "turned" gay in #107.

You're point wasn't that people thought he was turned gay, but that he
was turned gay.

"Jacob the fact that neither you or anyone else can easily point to the hints of Norhstars gayness ..."
Please see my post above.
And man, it's been less than an hour. Not everyone may have access to their comics to dig up those references. Give it a chance.

I thought he played for the Packers.
-------
Paulo, you were right. From the Marvel Universe website entry on Sasqutch:
"He played a few years for the Green Bay Packers, becoming very wealthy."
Don't know how I got the idea that he played for Tampa stuck in my head ( I
suspect it was a Green Bay/Tampa Bay thing). Proves how faulty a 20-year
old memory can be ...
I do wonder how wealthy Langowski could have gotten as a lineman in that
era of pro-football. That was before the big money free agnets are making
these days.

Not perfect, but decent. No reference to him being attracted to Walter, maybe that was all in my head.

I did. Thanks. Neither my teenager self or my current self would have interpreted those comments as Northstar being gay, but I guess those who are gay or intuned with being gay might see them as hints to Northstar being gay. Anyhow, its been fun, but I am done with this topic. I didn't know my comment would cause this landslide of sensitivity with the gay issue. My apologies.

No, Kevin, in the issues with Sasquatch dying and the quest to save Walter's soul this is touched upon. His grief with Aurora and the terms of whom must go to save his soul.

It was 106.
Thanks. I said 107 just going by memory. My mistake.

Northstar was gay. The man who created him said so. He just didn't have him come out and say, "I'm gay."
But, in the comics, it was his boyfriend, or at least another man, he was pictured with in his pool. I was 12 or 13 when I saw this, and I knew something was up. Again, it was subtle, but you cannot argue with JB about Northstar, as he is his character. This is not subjective.

First of all, I don't own a run of Alpha Flight and even if I did I am not going to read it to find some hidden messages that hinted to Northstar being gay prior to it bein revealed in #107. Likewise, I am not going to search though the FAQs section for something that supports YOUR argument. Just provide a link to the exact quotes and I will look.
I am sorry, but I have to address this. This is the problem with the world, admittedly ignorant people going on about things they know they do not know.
Why would anyone argue about something they admit thay are not familiar with?
